Welcome to EvoGolf!

Welcome everyone to EvoGolf. My name is Jake Agnew and I'm a 24 year old living in Rhode Island. I have a deep passion for golf and it surrounds the majority of my life. Ive been an Assistant Superintendent in Training for a few years now, while getting educated on golf instruction. I am now an Associate member of the Professional Golf Teachers Association of America, and recently got certified as a Golf Fitness Specialist by the National Association of Sports Medicine. I will be completing my Player Ability Test in the spring for the PGTAA to become a Class A Master Golf Teaching Professional. As I've been working towards my own goals in golf, I have been helping other golfers of all experience levels, chase their goals too.

This blog will be about everything golf. From instructional blogs and mental tips, to new golf products, to stories within the PGA tour and other professional golf organizations. This blog will be a place that all golfers of any background can safely and confidently discuss anything golf. This is a place to express the passions we share for this beautiful game.

I am a young instructor but I believe this is what makes me a great golf instructor and coach. I have a very fun and exciting approach to teach and playing golf. I like to like many others, keep the game simple. The game will always be hard, but it doesn't have to be complex. The simpler it is, the easier it is to avoid a mistake, and thats what golf is. A game of managing mistakes. The basic premise of how I teach golf, is to learn how to put yourself in promising situations, or like I like to call them, High Percentage Shots. The more frequent you put yourself in high percentage shots, the more frequent your scorecards will get lower and lower consistently.

Another big part of how I teach golf, is the emotional connection we have to it. The way we enjoy the game plays a big part in how we perform and react to those performances. Gaining an understanding of your connection to it, and how to use it will allow you to have more control while playing a round.

In conclusion, I want this blog to be a place that any golfer can communicate with others about the game. Don't forget to check out the classes and lessons I offer. I teach year round in swing mechanics, golf fitness training, and golf mental coaching. I look forward for what is to come!

Thanks!

Sincerely,

Jake Agnew
